Quinta da Calçada is an enchanting manor house located on the outskirts of Melgaço, the most northerly town of Portugal, in the vicinity of the National Park Peneda-Gerês.

The house is an authentic construction from the end of the 17th century, bound for agricultural purposes and nowadays surrounded by Alvarinho’s vineyards.

In the same family for over 200 years, the descendants still respect the local tradition of white painted roofs, to protect it from the frost.
